Help-In-Crisis is a member of the B.E.S.T. Coalition ("Bringing Everyone's Strengths Together"). The B.E.S.T. Foundation is based on best practices for community change. The group utilizes SAMHSA's strategic prevention framework and CADCA's seven strategies for community change.
Domestic Violence Shelter- An emergency 30 day stay shelter, providing a safe place for women and their children fleeing violent homes. Additionally offers educational and support groups for women and children residing in the shelter.
Crisis Line - Crisis line staffed 24/7, 365 days per year by trained volunteers, providing crisis intervention, information, and referral.
Court Advocacy - Advocacy within Adair, Sequoyah, Wagoner, and Cherokee counties for protective orders, court support, and referrals for legal issues related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
Sexual Assault Services - Emergency response and advocacy for victims of sexual assault at hospitals in Stilwell, Sallisaw, Wagoner, and Tahlequah the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program. Additionally provide support and counseling services for incest and sexual assault survivors.
Sexual Assault Prevention - Community outreach and educational presentations in the public school systems.
Counseling - Individual peer counseling and support groups for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault..
Supervised Visitation - Supervision of parent visitation is conducted at the Crisis Center. Supervised visitation is provided for both volunteer and court ordered supervision.
Children's Advocacy Center - Located in Sallisaw, Tahlequah, and Wagoner. Specially trained interviewers conduct forensic interviews for child victims of abuse and sexual assault. Assists in coordinating Multi-disciplinary teams in all four counties
Encore Resale Store - Located at 10-12-14 South Plaza Shopping Center in Tahlequah, Encore sells second hand clothing and household items to assist Help-In-Crisis with financial needs of the agency and it's clients.
